3 Things ;

I just found this article interesting and informing, especially since October's breast cancer awareness month soo I decided to share:

"TUESDAY, Oct. 12 (HealthDay News) -- Women who maintain certain "breast-healthy" habits can lower their risk of breast cancer, even if a close relative has had the disease, a new study finds.

Engaging in regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight and drinking alcohol in moderation, if at all, was shown in a large study to help protect against breast cancer in postmenopausal women, the researchers said.

"Whether or not you have a family history, the risk of breast cancer was lower for women engaged in these three sets of behavior compared to women who were not," said study leader Dr. Robert Gramling, associate professor of family medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York.

The study was published online Oct. 12 in the journal Breast Cancer Research.

Gramling wanted to look at the effects of lifestyle habits on breast cancer risk because he suspects some women with a family history may believe their risk is out of their control.

He analyzed data on U.S. women aged 50 to 79 from the Women's Health Initiative study starting in 1993. During 5.4 years of follow-up, 1,997 women were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.

Gramling excluded women with a personal history of breast cancer or with a family history of early-onset cancer (diagnosed before age 45), then observed the impact of the healthy habits.

Excluding those with an early-onset family history makes sense, because a stronger genetic (versus environmental) component is thought to play a role in early-onset, experts say.

Following all three habits reduced the risk of breast cancer for women with and without a late-onset family history. "For women who had a family history and adhered to all these behaviors, about six of every 1,000 women got breast cancer over a year's time," he said.

In comparison, about seven of every 1,000 women developed breast cancer each year if they had a late-onset family history and followed none of the behaviors.

Among women without a family history who followed all three habits, about 3.5 of every 1,000 were diagnosed with breast cancer annually, compared to about 4.6 per 1,000 per year for those without a family history who followed none of the habits.

For his study, Gramling considered regular physical activity to be 20 minutes of heart-rate raising exercise at least five times a week. Moderate alcohol intake was defined as fewer than seven drinks a week. A healthy body weight was defined in the standard way, having a body mass index, or BMI, of 18.5 to under 25.

Gramling hopes his research will reverse the thinking of women whose mother or sister had breast cancer who sometimes believe they are doomed to develop the disease, too.

The findings echo what other experts have known, said Dr. Susan Gapstur, vice president of the epidemiology research program at the American Cancer Society, who reviewed the study findings.

"The results of this study show that both women with a family history [late-onset] and without will benefit from maintaining a healthy weight and exercising, and consuming lower amounts of alcohol, limiting their alcohol consumption," she said.

The American Cancer Society guidelines for reducing breast cancer risk include limiting alcohol to no more than a drink a day, maintaining a healthy weight and engaging in 45 to 60 minutes of "intentional physical activity" five or more days a week.

The risk reduction effects found in the Gramling study may actually increase if women follow the more intense exercise guidelines of the ACS, Gapstur said."

"Live in the present . ."

"Ida Scott Taylor once wrote: Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering." - Lucas Scott, One Tree Hill

That picture was taken by me this past summer.

Fire Bomb

Fire Bomb - Rihanna

Rihanna's latest CD "Rated R" came out probably almost a year ago and it honestly took me months before I realized how good this song was. I'm the type of person to get a CD, listen to the songs I know, then just pass through the rest and if I don't like the music in the beginning I'll skip it. But one day I somehow decided to listen to this song "Fire Bomb" all the way through. I loved it. It's different but good. So listen to it above if you haven't already!

Mariah Back in the Day

So one of the all time best love songs is "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey. Whenever and wherever that song comes on, I guarantee you someone will start singing along:

I love this song and think it's probably the best song that Mariah has made. The runner up is probably "All I Want For Christmas is You." So my question is what happened to the old Mariah? I know she's had some issues but she still has her amazing vocals. And while she has made some good songs I don't think that they're up to her full potential. I think she could do soooo much better. She doesn't even seem like she's that focused on her career anymore. I know she's older now and married to Nick Cannon but she could make some beautiful songs if she put her mind to it. Look at how "Always Be My Baby" came out. I don't know if she'll ever be the same but it's such a shame to waste that much talent when you're capable of so much!

Young Forever

Today at work I helped with a birthday party for 10 year olds. As I watched them I realized how much fun it was to be young. I can't believe it's been 8 years since I was that old. They were just so energetic and having so much fun with the randomest stuff. Kids are so creative and can legit create something so amazing out of nothing. They're just so full of life and happy, and seeing them like that almost makess you wish you were young again. No drama, worries, real problems. You don't have to worry about what you're gonna do with you life; you just worry about what you're gonna do later on that day. But seeing these girls together really just made me realize, even more than before, that when you're around the right kind of people you can have fun doing whatever. So if you surround yourself with good people, you're gonna have a good time no matter what. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that age . . but I think everyone feels that way at one point or another!

Love ♥

One thing that I don't think alot of girls realize is that you cannot truly be completely happy in a relationship with another person if you aren't happy with yourself. You have to love YOU first, if you don't love yourself then what reason does a dude have to love you? Confidence is attractive. Cockiness on the other hand is not. Some girls these days just go out with a million people and jump from guy to guy to guy like it's a game. Dudes do the same thing. But love's not a game; heart's aren't toys. They do break like toys though. Worse than toys even and you can't buy a new one to replace it either. So anyways, I think it's better, at first, for most people to focus on yourself first and let love come to you :)

Loving You No More

Loving You No More - Dirty Money featuring Drake

[Dirty Money]
So hard to breathe this air that we call love,
Aint nothing worse than the hurt we receive from love,
When you get hurt by the one you living for,
Pain can make you wanna love no more,

[Chorus]
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself,
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself

Hurt with the heart thats bleeding slowly,
So many lonely sleepless nights,
Im going through hell to convince you love me,
But never her approval no matter how I try,
The way you talk to me but still I say I love you,
I’m ashamed you can see it in my eyes,
Momma always told me to respect the woman,
But what am I to do when her parents do not try,

So many tears I cried,
But all for nothing I’m afraid to say,
Oooooohhh

[Chorus]
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself,
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself

I’ve been so dependent on your love for so long,
Punishment for me is trying to let go,
Give it from your heart is what you taught me,
Addiction to pain is what it got me,
My life, now its changed,
My life aint the same as you are,
Heartbroken, to the point sometimes wanna end it,
If I can’t have what mean most to me,

So many tears I cried,
But all for nothing I’m afraid to say,

[Chorus]
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself,
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself

[Drake]
Uh, trying not to over think
Only cause I’ve drove and I done had a lot to drink
When I wanted it blue you said we got to paint it pink
And there’s pieces of ya hair still sittin in my sink
And you still got underwear that’s sittin in the dryer
How come every time that you’re suspicious I’m a liar?
You stand out, I can hear you whistle in a choir
And that’s the only reason you the Mrs. I admire
Damn. Tell me what I’m gone do
Since everything I’m trying to forget is all true
Me and all your main girls get along too
I would take my last dollar out and bet it on you
But ahhhhh, you see the same one I’m missing
Is basically the reason I became something different
And just that I remember me before
And if you could do the same baby then we’ll be for sure

[Chorus]
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself,
Loving you no more,
I just I cant I just can’t be loving you no more,
I love you more than I love myself

Lindsay Lohan

Usually I really don't care about celebrity gossip and all that but this I do care about. Lindsay Lohan. Whyyy does she keep getting out of her jail sentences. She needs that jail sentence, in my opinion, to give her a wake up call. Yeah she may be going to rehab but is that really gonna help anything? Because to recover from a drug and alcohol problem you need to realize that a.) you have a problem and b.) you need to want to get better. She just doesn't seem to understand that. Nobody is indestructable. I think Lindsay has such high potential and it's being wasted because she's so wrapped up in the addiction. Look back at how cute she was in the Parent Trap. She is such a good actress. She just needs to get her head back in the game and recover. Otherwise there's gonna be another young life lost to drugs and that'd just be a shame.
