My New Moon Review

Photobucket
So New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight Saga came out this Friday, November 20th. It broke tons of records including midnight showings. I saw it yesterday and I have to say it really was good. There's ALOT more action like I predicted there would be. So with that said a guy might like it for that reason alone. The werewolves were so crazy and huge! I didn't picture them that big when I was reading the books. I think they did a great job making New Moon from book to movie. When Bella hears Edwards voice in the books, they make it so she can actually see AND hear "him" Which is a good touch because otherwise our dear Edward Cullen wouldn't have been in the movie as much. There were also a bunch of LOL moments. Charlie, Bella's dad was funny. And Bella's friend Jessica was hilarious. Just her personality is just funny because she's so clueless and doesn't think before she speaks. Then of course, there's Jacob played by Taylor Lautner who had to bulk up for the movie. I'm sure shirtless Jacob switched a bunch of people from Team Edward to Team Jacob. One thing I didn't like was that the Cullens weren't in it much, which was expected because they leave Forks, in the book and the movie, which is dissapointing because I love my Cullens! Alice and Edward are probably in it the most. Another thing I noticed that kind of urked me a little is that Rosalie's [ played by Nikki Reed ] hair looks different from the movie. I've read that she wore a wig because first of all apparently when they dyed it for the first movie her hair almost fell out and because she's legit only in the movie twice. Hopefully they find a better wig or just dye it for Eclipse which I'm so happy to say comes out June 30, 2010! And once you see New Moon, you'll be fiending for Eclipse just because of the way they end it. So two thumbs up! I don't think I could really dislike the movie to be honest though but hey that's me.

Eclipse is my favorite book from the series so I can't wait to see how that plays out on screen. Can't wait to see more of Edward && all the Cullens! Hopefully they'll start filming Breaking Dawn Soon because if they only did 3 of the books that'd seem dumb to me.

Better Off

I love this song by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. It's from her first album, not anything new. I know she's been busy acting and with her son/husband but I think she should get some new music out there. She's a good singer :)

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving is coming up next Thursday. I really don't like the holiday because I feel like you should be thankful for things all year round and not just one day in November.

What I do think is great is that most super markets have turkeys at more affordable prices for people. Since we are in a recession. I think turkeys should be cheap enough for anyone to afford at any time. My heart goes out to those who have no kitchen, or home, or place to go to for a Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm thankful for sooo many things. My family is probably my number one thing. What are you thankful for?

Veteran's Day Vandalism

So yesterday there was an article in the paper about how about 100 veteran's graves/headstones had been vandalized. They had been tipped over and even some of the American flags put there for the holiday had been knocked over and on the ground which obviously is an even bigger show of disrespect. What I wanna know is what kind of person would do this? What did these Veteran's do to them? Besides serve their country and fight for us. Obviously it was planned because you don't just randomly go tipping over headstones. And how do you even tip over a headstone? Those things are CRAZY heavy. That's such a disrespectful thing to do, even if it wasn't a Veteran, you should let the dead rest in peace. They are not doing anything to you. It was an even bigger slap in the face that it was actually done on Veteran's Day. Total disrespect. Now they don't have camera's in cemetaries because I guess that could be an invasion of privacy but maybe they should. Just because of incidents like this. Because how are they going to find out who did this? But hopefully someone comes forward with some information to help. In the meantime the cemetary is going to fix all the graves and damage that was done. I just really can't imagine what kind of person would do this. What an absolutely awful thing to do.

Smart ;) Phones

It's really unusual in this day and age that someone would not have a 'smart phone' which is a phone that has a qwerty keyboard. Not only do they have internet and faster texting but they have a perk for writers.

Everyone always says a writer should always have a notebook and pen on them. Well on smart phones you have a built in notepad that you can just pull out your phone and type in what you want to remember or what inspired you. That way you don't have anything extra to carry, just your phone. You don't need a blackberry or an iPhone, any smart phone will work. My notepad has come in handy when I needed to write things down, it could for you too. Look into it!

Music Monday

Lady Gaga - Bad Romance

It'll be stuck in your head by the end of the day. LOL it is a good song though!

Bad Habit - Destiny's Child

Not a new song, but it's been stuck in my head the past few days. Love Destiny's Child <3

Summer Love - Keshia Chante

I know it's not summer but I love this song and her voice.

Love, Right?

I'm sure everyone's seen or heard about all of the reality love shows. Every time you turn around someone gets a show or has another season. But why? How do you randomly pick people to potentially find love with? That's not how love is supposed to be. Sure the show could help you maybe but I feel its all about the fame and money. Why would any female want to compete for someone's heart? To quote Save The Last Dance 'you can't help who you love, you're not supposed to' with that said love could happen from these shows but until I see a marriage and a happy family come from them I'm not completely believing it. It's all about the money and fame to people. Not love. Why would any girl want to make themselves so vulnerable to get hurt especially in that situation, they may be great people but my guess is they either have alterior motives to further a career or just want the money and hey, why can't they when the guy is doing a show for money and not really love? Think about it. Love will happen when it happens.

Rihanna: Women Of The Year

Glamour magazine interviewed Rihanna and entitled the article "Rihanna: Back On Top" in the Women of the Year issue.

Here's a small part of the interview:

Glamour: If you could offer a message to the millions of young women who look up to you, what would you tell someone who found herself in a similar situation?

Rihanna: Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.

Glamour: I think that’s a great message. What about your new album? What’s it like?

Rihanna: I was involved in a lot of the writing. I put everything I’ve wanted to say for the past eight months into my music. The songs are really personal. It’s rock ‘n’ roll, but it’s really hip-hop: If Lil’ Wayne and Kings of Leon like my album, then I’ll feel good. I would not change anything about it. Even if people don’t love it, I made exactly the piece of art that I wanted to make. It’s super fearless—which is exactly how I feel right now. I am in a really good place.

She seems like she's moving forward and regaining control of her life. She also talks about hoping to find love in the next 10 years. Which means she, unlike Chris, is not hanging on and dwelling on their relationship. Atleast not publicly anyways. Good interview. Worth Reading.

I really kinda sweat this song, not gonna lie. Definately feeling it more than Russian Roulette, which I do like but for some reason I like this one more. Let's see how the world will try to "analyze" this single!

Scary Movie Sunday

Well Halloween is over but I still love horror movies and thrillers so it's scary movie Sunday.

I love all of the Scream movies. All of 'em! They're not even really 'scary' but if anything they are entertaining and have great casts. Neve Campbell is such a good actress in all 3. It's a shame she hasn't had any major roles recently. But I can't wait for Scream 4 to be made and come to theaters!
